For those of you who are unfamiliar with martin, here is an excerpt from his press kit:

Martin, a disillusioned ex-punk, turned to the darkside in 1982 & found he preferred it. Working as a doorman, part time DJ and promoter in Romfords’ Rezz club from 1985 taught him all he needed to know about avoiding ‘proper’ work and a life on the alternative side of things beckoned.

Through to March 1988 when the club turned into a wine bar he booked some of the scenes finest bands and promoted gigs people still talk about today. In 1988 “The Playground” began and he began concentrating more on DJing than promoting. From 1999 he co-ran InsanitoriuM, firstly in pubs and then in a proper venue, returning to promoting for the final few, before the ill health of one of the DJ’s led to the decision to stop on the tenth anniversary.

He’s DJ’d all over the UK, at the Whitby Gothic Weekend (five times in total), been to Los Angeles to DJ and worked at the Wave Gotik Treffen in Leipzig, Germany (to 2000 people at an all night event) as well as several other prestigious events.

He’s very happy that at last people are remembering what goth is, as it means he’s in demand again.

He celebrates 25 years in the business is 2010, why not help him out?

Less than four months after the release of their highly successful debut album “Lib. 1”, GARDEN OF DELIGHT’s only legitimate successor follows up with the “Body Of Light” EP to seamlessly continue where the debut album has left off. Merciful Nuns epitomise the Goth genre more than most bands over the last decade. The songwriting and production, despite the apparent Retro influences sound refreshingly contemporary and prove that Gothic 2010 does not have to sound antiquated and out of date. Stop it! Enough is enough! The never-ending wimps of “yesterday’s sound”, “dusty sound” and “music from the tomb” – all bullshit. In a time, when narrow-minded Krautrock is sold as Gothic, Techno-Rave claims to be “The Next Big Thing” and one still desperately searches for the connection between bagpipes and dark-wave - exactly in that time North Irish trio SOLEMN NOVENA release a debut album sounding like the essence of Goth.

Guitars sound like from outer space – sometimes atmospherically floating, sometimes aggressively cutting, but without old metal-riff cliché. A drum computer sets the stoic-cool beat, the bass pounds deep in your stomach that music can

literally be felt again. This is what they stand for: Front woman LOUISE CRANE (by the way the sexiest Goth-singer ever since), guitarist, singer and mastermind MARC McCOURT (already known as DOMINIC LaVEY of the UK-Vampire Goths of NOSFERATU and member of 90s underground heroes RETURN TO KHAF’JI) as well as bass player STUART HARLAND.

For years demos of the Belfast trio have been circulating among the underground. Songs like the heavenly “Siren” (now as cooler Album version on “Kiss the Girls”) conquered easily the dance floors from London to Berlin, from L.A. to Athens. Unsurprisingly, it was time for an official debut release as it had been frequently asked for after the exclusive German live-debut in 2008 at the “Sex & Drugs & Drum Machines”-Festival in Berlin. ”Kiss the Girls” does everything right. SOLEMN NOVENA extract the finest ingredients of style-legends like ROSETTA STONE, ALL ABOUT EVE or the before mentioned NOSFERATU, to develop an individual sound that fits harmonically into the second decade of the 21st century. “Ruined” as well as the previously digitally released single “Silver”, “Trick or Treat”, the title song and “Siren (2009)” are ready to show the world out there that Goth can be cool. That Goth is far more than the

Becoming older is a fact of life, which has some good aspects that are mostly appreciated beyond a certain age only. If everything went right, you had become wise and clarified. You know what you want. The inner peace and balance is not easily disturbed. And somehow you realize, that looking behind the curtain is an effort worth to be done. But what has this to do with BLOODY DEAD AND SEXY? Quite simple;

Five years ago, the German band has release a State Of The Art-Dark Rock-Album named “Narcotic Room”, which incorporated the death rockelements of the early phase of the band. Combined with the finest songwriting and a very solid production, the very original sound of the band boosted the band into the next millennium. And now? 2010 is today. The second decade of the 21st century has just begun and BLOODY DEAD AND SEXY are all but tired. “An Eye on You” is the greatest long player of the band of four. Only the finest ingredients are stirred in a smooth & relaxed way, and with extravagance that it could be perceived to be (excusez moi) overly coolness of the four gentlemen.

Starting with the smart-riffed opener “Solemn Times”, coming across the cold-rocking “City Ghosts” or the well-known, but incomparably excellent sounding “Reaping Day”, via the dark-floor smasher of “Candy Box” to the three-parted epic work of “Three Corners of an Eye”: It makes perfect sense! Never before has it sounded that free & at the same time dashing, full of neglect of all stylistic borders. Hardcore-Fans of the early days will be delighted that a German song named “Der Kuss” made its way onto the record of the eight-legged band. It dovetails perfectly with band-anthems, “Frau im See” or “Traurig”.
